Our History

The history of Boys & Girls Clubs and early learning centers in Suncook starts in 2003, when the town of Allenstown reached out to see if the Concord Boys & Girls Club would consider running an after school program at their recreation center, which had closed due to lack of funding for staff. The town offered to pay building overhead and maintenance if the Club provided after school and summer programming. The recreation center consisted of a double-wide trailer adjacent to the basketball and skate park. For several years, this building overflowed with kids until a generous donor purchased another doublewide trailer. Several years later, CDFA tax credits helped build a new community center shared with the Allenstown Senior Center. A small preschool program was launched there shortly after. After years of transporting students from surrounding communities, the Club was able to branch out into the Epsom Elementary school in 2019 and Pittsfield Elementary School in 2022.

Financial Assistance from the Club

We strongly encourage you to apply for a State of New Hampshire Child Care Scholarship-- it's there to help organizations like us stay in business without passing costs along to you! It's available for children ages six weeks old through age 13. If you don't qualify or are unable to apply for a State of NH Child Care Scholarship, the Boys & Girls Club offers a reduced fee for the after school program and summer camp only, based on family income. To apply for Club assistance, please follow instructions in the after school program enrollment application to upload proof of income. Documentation may include three most recent pay stubs, Social Security benefits, food stamps explanation of benefits, etc. Members will be charged the full fee until proof of income or State enrollment is confirmed.

Financial Assistance from the State of NH

Why not see if the state of New Hampshire will help pay your weekly fee! They have increased their income limits so that more families are covered! To find out more and apply, please visit this site. While you wait for the state scholarship decision, you’re welcome to enroll but must pay the full rate. Once any payments are received from the state and applied to your account, the credits can be used for future fees. If the credit balance exceeds $100 we would be happy to refund your credit card upon request. Please reach out to your site director if you need help with the process.
